54 days!
wow… we’re getting extremely close! Callie and i are both very excited for our big day. we’re getting a lot of the finishing touches confirmed and planned so things are rolling.
yesterday we had our second wedding shower. the first one was from some of the ladies that Callie works with so they gave her a bunch of gag gifts and then pulled out a bookshelf that Callie and i had registered for from Target that they all went in and bought together for us. we really appreciated that. it was a fun time with them and a great way to begin our month-o-showers!
then yesterday we had a shower thrown by Callie’s mom’s best friend, Mrs. Christopher who coincidentally was the one who purchased my motion activated soap dispenser! thank you Mrs. Christopher!
we also got a LOT of other stuff as well. we picked up a blender, ice cream maker, plenty of pans and cookie sheets, cooking utensils, bed sheets, a blanket, a stand mixer, and lots more stuff.
i love getting presents. and if whoever made that buffalo chicken cheese dip thing at the shower yesterday reads this blog, send me that recipe at eric@freedomlive.net. that stuff was good!
in addition, the engagement pictures came back as well, you can check out a few of them in the photo gallery link to the right.

wow… officially less than 2 months to go!
things are coming together rather quickly and the big push is underway. Callie’s wedding dress is in and she is going today to try it on and have them take measurements and make it fit right.
our photographer Neal and put just a few of our engagement pictures on his blog. he is sending us the disk with the rest of our pictures on it but until then you can check out this blog and see a sample.
invitations are being addressed and will be delivered to all of you soon. because we are having a dinner reception, we had to make some tough decisions on who we could and could not invite to the wedding.
also, the next month will be filled with wedding showers for Callie and me. thank you in advance to all who are coming to those and purchasing gifts for us. we really appreciate it and we can’t wait to see what you bought us. i know someone has purchased the automatic motion sensored soap dispenser and i thank you – whoever you are!
for those of you that need a reminder, we are registered at Bed Bath & Beyond and Target. you can click the links on the right to get to our registries.

100 days!!!
Eric and I are getting married in 100 days! We are both so incredibly excited! Planning is going well. We still have a lot to do, but we’re getting there. We are so ready for December 20th to get here. This fall semester will probably be the longest semester of my life. 100 days doesn’t seem like a lot, but I know it will feel like forever. Eric and I start pre-marital counseling tonight. We’re both really excited about it. I’m not really sure what to expect, but it will be really good for both of us.
Please pray for us in a few areas:
- Pray for us as we prepare for our upcoming marriage. This is a very special time and I am excited to see what God has in store.
- Pray for Eric. He has been really sick the last couple days.
Thanks so much to all of you who are going to be apart of this special day and to those who are keeping us in your prayers. We love you guys!
-Callie

Updates | 109 Days
This is long overdue, but my stuff is finally up on the wedding blog. There is now information in the “her story” and “bridesmaids” sections. I apologize for the long wait. I have just been really busy with school and work. I have also been really busy getting save the date cards out. I finally finished that up this past week. We have a lot done but a lot left to do. Only 109 days!!!!!!

Callie has been working hard over the past few days to get our save the dates addressed and sent out so if you’re coming to the wedding, you should be getting those pretty soon.
We decided what our favors were going to be last week but I’m going to be mean and not tell you what they are. It will be a surprise for some.
We’re also re-doing our invitations. We already had purchased some that we liked but we’re going to go with a different style. I’m not totally sure why but I think it has something to do with ribbon. We chose a potential new invitation this past Sunday but we’re waiting on a sample to come in so we can see it in person and not just on a computer screen.
Lastly, we chose our photographer. He is a guy I know from back in the day. His name is Neal Reeves and he’s pretty fantastic. There is a link to his online gallery on the right. enjoy!

Last night Callie and I had the privilege of meeting with a husband/wife photography team. It was absolutely pouring down rain the whole way over there, but that was good because we needed the rain.
After the meeting, we went back to my house to cook some dinner. Callie had made this mexican casserole for a woman at FreedomChurch who just had a baby and she made extra for us. We were pre-heating the oven to cook it when the power went off in the house. So we did what any normal people do when the power goes off. We unloaded the dishwasher. My dad fell asleep on the couch and we cleaned up the kitchen. We were hoping the power would come back on but it stayed off for over 2 hours. Callie and I didn’t have a nice iPhone-light meal last night though. She had chips and salsa while I had a peanut butter & jelly sandwich. Try making that in the dark. It’s not easy trust me.
We’re still trying to decide on photographers for the wedding. We’re not exactly sure who we’ll go with yet. We did get all of our registering finished. We have a groom’s preview of the tuxedos this Saturday.
In addition to everything above, today is Callie’s 22nd Birthday. If you haven’t already, tell her happy birthday here.

Whew! The past two days have been exhausting! Last night, Callie and I went and registered at Bed Bath & Beyond. When we registered there, one of the employees, James, took us around the store and suggested things we should register for. I have to say it was a little awkward at the beginning but when we left, Callie and I both said that we were happy he was with us. I learned what a Duvet is. Be proud of me.
Today we went to Target and registered there as well. Target was where we registered for all of our “fun” stuff (including a Nintendo Wii – somebody please buy that for us!)
Both registrations took over 2 hours and Callie and I are exhausted! We need a break. However, everything we did was extremely necessary.
Our registry links can be found on the right side of the page. Go there and check them out!
